Whether you’re in Miami for a week or a weekend, you won’t want to miss these spots that might just be 6 of the hottest photoshoot locations in Miami.
Below, I’ve put together some of the top sites you MUST see. A bonus to each of these places is that the aesthetic is 100% Miami and makes for some very ‘gramable content!
Without further adieu…
1. Miami Mountain
2100 Collins Ave, Miami Beach FL 33140
Inspired by Magic Mountain in Nevada, Miami Mountain is an art installation that was acquired by the Bass Museum of Art featuring five brightly painted limestone rocks.
You can find this very Instagramable exhibit in Collins Park in South Beach.
If you want to check out the museum too while you’re in the area, it is back open for business!
General admission is $15, Students/Seniors/Youth tickets are $8, and Members/Military/City Employees get in free.
2. Ocean Drive
Ocean Drive is the essence of Miami.
Its Art Deco architecture makes one feel as if they just traveled back in time to the 1950s. To really get an appreciation for the area’s history, a popular Art Deco walking tour is available.
The tour points out which buildings have been featured in films, passageways to secret casinos, and more.
You’ll also want to visit Ocean Drive after sunset.
The buildings are flooded with neon lights, adding a vibe that will definitely elevate your photoshoot game.
Most of the hotels and restaurants have outdoor seating as well, so you can enjoy the scenery while grabbing a bite to eat or drink.
An “open-air sanctuary” and outdoor shopping mall, Upper Buena Vista is a quiet little nook, tucked away out of eyesight just minutes up the road from the Design District. So much so, you might drive right by it without even noticing!
However, if you park on 50th Terrace, you’ll see the wooden entrance and sign overhead. Once inside, the area opens up to novelty shops, cafes, and other oddities.
In the center of the sanctuary is the Bodhi Wish Tree, a 120-year-old Banyan that was preserved during the area’s development because it is thought to have special magnetic and spiritual.
Adorned with ribbons placed by the hopeful, visitors write their wishes on each strand and attach them to the various segments of the tree.
Ribbons can be acquired at The House of Findings for a small donation.
Each dollar donated goes to fund a foundation that supports reforestation and nature preservation in North America.
This area is definitely off the beaten path, but makes for fun content and is a must-see if you’re in the area.
4. South Beach
Miami is known for South Beach.
From its colorful lifeguard towers to its fitness fanatics, South Beach has made a name for itself.
And rightfully so. You’ll definitely want to take a walk or grab a bike and enjoy the Miami Beach Boardwalk.
The beach itself is also quite spectacular.
You have a couple of choices for spending the day in the sand.
1. Choose a public access spot.
2. Opt for a hotel with either beachfront property or one that has a designated area with chairs and umbrellas. (Some hotels may rent a chair to you even if you aren’t staying with them. It doesn’t hurt to ask!)
Not only will you have endless photoshoot opts, but you’ll also find an endless list of water activities along the shoreline including jet skis, paddle boarding, and parasailing.
With its sleek architecture, art galleries, and upscale restaurants, the Design District is a popular destination, even if you aren’t looking to pick up a designer bag and just want to snap some photos instead.
The area features 120 shops including Tiffany & Co., Luis Vuitton, Gucci, FENDI, Balenciaga, Hermes, and Dior to name a few.
Public art is showcased throughout the streets, giving the district added sophistication and an extra edge over other outdoor malls. Even the parking garage is a work of art!
For a more casual shopping experience, or simply a place to grab a bite to eat and some very ‘gramable photos, Lincoln Mall is a great way to spend an afternoon.
You’ll find shops like Banana Republics, Aerie, and Athleta, to name a few.
If you’re looking for great Cuban food, check out Havana 1957 while you’re there.
Most restaurants offer outdoor seating, which may be part of the reason Lincoln Rd is often voted the most popular place to people-watch in Florida!
Prior to my own trip, a friend of mine said, “Go to Lincoln Rd Mall to see and be seen!” And I guess he isn’t the only one who feels that way!
Parking can be found on the street or in 3 nearby garages. Most areas use various parking apps, making paying for parking easy and convenient.
