Warmer weather is just around the corner and hopefully so is your trip to a tropical destination!
I recently took a trip to South Beach Miami and was a little surprised at the fashion trends there.
This led me to put together this quick packing list of 5 Essential Items to Look Classy at the Beach. And, let me just add that ‘classy’ and ‘sexy’ often go hand-in-hand.
Now, don’t get me wrong, whatever anyone feels confident in, by all means. However, I believe that leaving a liiiiiittle bit to the imagination goes a long way 😉Â
Without further adieu, here are the 5 essentials from my recent beach trip.
Most of these pieces are from Amazon. I was last-minute shopping, needed the quick delivery options, and was quite pleased with how these turned out.
I love to feel like I look put together and yet feel comfortable at the same time.
In my professional opinion (wink wink), there’s nothing worse than uncomfortable clothes.
Essential Item #1: Casual Dress
This t-shirt dress was the perfect thing for our outing to Lincoln Rd. mall. I loved the rounded bottom and knee-high slits.
Amazon also offered a similar dress with a sleeve, in case sleeveless isn’t your thing.
Oh, and did I mention this dress as pockets?! Is there anything better than a dress with pockets? No, I didn’t think so.
Birkenstocks are always my go-to for comfortable, casual footwear. They go with SO many outfits. Definitely a must for your closet.
Essential Item #2: Chic Dinner Outfit
I chose this black romper for a nice dinner. I typically opt for black when I’m wanting to dress up. This off-shoulder style paired with the wedge was perfect. It offers a polished look but still falls in the comfortable category.
The wedges I wore with the romper were a DSW find (and a surprise gift from my sweet husband). I’ll link them HERE.
This outfit can then take you out to enjoy some of the nightlife if you choose, and the shoes won’t kill your feet if you need to do a bit of walking. You’re welcome 🙂
Essential Item #3: Bathing Suit
What I love about high-waisted bathing suits is that they are timeless and still sexy.
The ones I’ve listed here are also Amazon finds! Depending on where you get your swimsuits from, they can be really expensive, or, to add to the cost, the retailer makes you buy each piece separately.
I was pleasantly surprised that both of these sets were less than $30. Now THAT’s what I’m talking about!
Keep in mind that the high-waisted suits can sometimes be a little on the cheeky side. So, if that’s not for you, you might want to stick with a lower-rise option or look for a high-waist with full coverage.
Essential Item #4 & #5: Hat & Sunglasses
I did not appreciate what a necessity a beach hat, even a small one, and sunglasses would be!
I really try to protect my skin, especially my face, and this little hat was fashionable and just the right amount of shade! Not only did it save me at the beach, but it also elevated my casual, non-beach attire and helped me look more put-together. #winning 😛
As far as sunglasses go, I always recommend something polarized. Otherwise, I feel like I can’t see out of them.
In Miami, Ray-Ban’s Clubmaster sunglasses paired with a fedora and a high-waisted bathing suit added to the whole Art Deco vibe and made me feel like I was sitting on the beach in the ’60s. I kinda loved it.
More to come…
Stay tuned for more posts to come about our recent trip to Miami! I’ll be covering where we stayed, where we ate, and tips for saving money on your trip!
